Excellent suggestions about taking good care of your clothing. The only exception about washing is with white shirts - I read that more frequent washing actually keeps them in better shape, because the oils won't seep in and stain.

You can also buy good quality used stuff if you are lucky/a good thrifter- sometimes you can find high quality, gently used items at a fraction of the cost of new, high quality stuff.

I actually posted on how I am recyling an old door to make a new paint canvas.

These are really great tips. Which reminds me, I should fix the hole in my sweatpants before I start flashing my butt without knowing.

And I should clean my boots off, but it started snowing/salting here again so.. I should kind of wait or else it'll start up again :(

Quality items have a LOWER cost per use, versus cheap items. I also don't cheap out on technology either since I know how sucky that can be

hey great tips! i did the same thing a few weeks ago - sewed some buttons back on/more secure to my winter coat, sewed up a tiny hole in one of my sofa cushions, etc. it IS very important and handy to have basic sewing skills!

this also reminds me of an article in the globe and mail yesterday - similar suggestions for technology fixes.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090219.wgtcircuits0219/BNStory/PersonalTech
