Greens+ Day 3 Thoughts

So I’ve been trying out this Greens+ stuff for a couple of days now.

The gal at the GNC store said to give it a week before looking for results, so I’m making the effort to drink it every day this week.

It’s taking a little bit of finagling though. The Greens don’t necessarily taste bad, but they don’t taste good either. I purchased the berry flavour with a coupon and my friend’s discount.

On Monday, I mixed 1 tsp in with the whole bottle (250mL maybe?) of apple juice we get at work for free. Ugh. WAY too sweet. I think this berry flavour must be pre-sweetened.

On Tuesday I skipped the apple juice and opted for a mini bottle of water instead, reasoning that the super-sweetness of the day before would be toned down.

And it was… but I think I just used too much water this time and didn’t mix well enough, the Greens clumped down in the bottom and it just sort of tasted blah. The texture kind of put me off as well.

So today, Wednesday I decided to use just a small amount of apple juice with maybe 2 tsp of Greens. I shook it up in a small bottle, plugged my nose and downed it like a shot. I think this may be the winning combination.

I think my earlier issues stemmed from the over-sweetness, weird texture and the sheer volume of liquid I had to consume. I think I’d much rather just bite the bullet and get it over with, so the shot method seems to be best. Plus I follow it up with a coffee chaser ๐Ÿ˜‰

As for results… well the jury is still out on that one. Right now, this instant, I feel better than I normally do. A little bit more energetic, but not much. (By energetic I mean that I am not lapsing into a coma, brain fuzz or sleep like I normally do).

You know, I haven’t even read the back of the bottle yet? The part where it describes all the wonderful things this junk will do for you? I’m not totally sure I want to. I want to see how it makes me feel without any expectations or mind tricks. I don’t want to read the promises and either imagine the results, or be totally disappointed, either.

So we’ll see how this goes. Hopefully it will make me feel great; especially now that I’ve figured out how to take the stuff!

I got my Greens+ for around $33 after a discount at GNC. You can check out the Genuine Health website for coupons for their products, sometimes they have them after you answer a questionnaire. This isn’t a paid post, but if someone would like to send me more Greens+ products to try I would love it! LOL So damned expensive…

  1. As somebody who is tired all the time, I'd be interested in reading about your results.

I am not sure if you'd ever do this, but I know people who swear by green smoothies (http://greenmonstermovement.com/) to help with their energy levels and much more. I keep meaning to try this but haven't gotten around to it.

  2. I did this a while ago and stopped for a few reasons (namely texure, taste and cost*L*)

Although I didn't notice a huge difference, I did like the idea that I was doing something 'good' for me and that was the payoff! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ok so I've seen this stuff at W@lm@rt but have no idea what it is…looking forward to your further reviews!

  4. Ok, basically it's a "superfood" so it's jam-packed with all those minerals and vitamins and fancy health terms that you may be lacking in your day-to-day diet.

It's maybe like taking a nutritional supplement? A lot like taking those green smoothies that Rags2Riches mentioned, this one can be a smoothie too.

It's gotten a lot of positive reviews which is why I decided to try this brand, plus it's a Canadian company.

By taking this I am hoping for a boost in energy throughout my day as well as a better sense of well-being. I'm sure it will help in lots of other ways too since it's full of antioxidants and all that jazz too.

Their product website has a good description to read, and there are some customer reviews, too. (I also checked out other review sources before trying)

  5. Hi there! Congratulations for taking greens+. I've been taking it for over 10 years. I also happen to work for Genuine Health!

Thanks so much for writing about your experiences so far. I'd love to offer more help.

For starters, you may want to try adding greens+ to a smoothie (add berries, yogurt, water, etc.) using a blender. If this isn't convenient, then simply add a half-serving (or full-serving if you have no digestive issues) of greens+ to water, in juice etc. Shake and enjoy. Be sure to follow-up with lots of water throughout your day too. Water immediately after often helps with absorption and digestion.

First thing in the morning is great! Soon, your body will start to crave its taste, and yes, you will feel a healthy difference too!

For any other questions or concerns, please send me an email! I'd love to help:

  6. Will my body really start to crave the taste?

That's awesome! I hope it happens!

So far so good taking the greens… I still do it shot-style with a little bit of apple juice & water because that's all I've got at work.

I think I'm almost up to a full serving… I'm not totally sure since I don't have a measuring scoop or anything, but it looks like it's almost 3 tsp!

  7. Hi there,
If 'shot style' is best for you, by all means…go for it!

And yes, your body will soon start to 'crave' greens+. Why? Mostly because as you become more alkalaine (versus acidic), your body responds best to whole, natural foods that are nutrient-rich and not processed. A more alkaline pH level = a healthier body. (greens+ is proven the most alkaline-forming food of its kind -more than spinach or raisins.)

Bottom line, you're feeding your body over 23 phytonutrients (these are plant-based ingredients) that are loaded with the most powerful antioxidants.

Benefits go far, but the main ones include: increased overall energy and vitality, improved pH level, stronger bones, increased antioxidant status and immunity.

After you finish this bottle, let me know if you'd like to try another greens+ formula. There's one called greens+ Instant Smoothie that has added protein. It's creamy and delicious (no blender required). Be well! Aurea

  8. Be care taking the Greens+. I put a tsp of Greens+ Instant Smoothie into my 13 daughter's smoothie two weeks ago and she vomited for hours. I didn't even attribute it to the Greens+ until two days ago when I again put 1 tsp in her smoothie and within two hours she was really sick. Vomiting and sharp pains that lasted all day. There are a lot of ingredients in this product so be careful!

  9. starting taking Greens+ 3 weeks ago…find the taste unique…not craving it yet, but it isn't nasty as I had originally expected it to taste…has anyone experienced bloating and gas? I have had more energy…and that's a winner for me
