I think people should be waiting to have sex until their 20s. No teenager is mature enough to handle sex, in my opinion. I think ideally the first time should be with someone you love and will stay with for a long time. I have several friends who were in their late 20s, and one even 30, before they lost it, and they were not weird or whatever. On the other hand, I dated a guy once in my 20s who had never kissed a girl even. Now, THAT was weird (and comical). :)

Hmmmm...good question.
I would say that it doesn't matter (as long as you know beforehand!)
And even then...I say that because that way your partner is more likely to be more gentle, understanding and approachable.

My exboyfriend was and never said anything, but kept putting off sex...and needless to say, it became a HUGE issue for me (making me feel like a less than desirable partner). Once I knew the truth, it made things a lot more palpable. We never made it to the sex stage before it ended though.

Neither a turn off or turn on for me either.

It might be cooler for GUYS who find girls who are virgins, but for guys that are virgins? I couldn't care less, as long as I loved them.

I'm 29. I lost my virginity at 19, and I think that was a good age and level of readiness for me. I used to think it was kind of weird for someone to be a virgin over the age of about 22 if there was nothing apparently wrong with them, unless they had made a conscious choice to wait for their own personal reasons.

Then when I went backpacking around Europe at age 28, I met a 23 (one month shy of 24!) year old guy from California who I fell for a little bit. I went to stay with him in Nice for 3 days at his hotel, so I kind of figured that sex was going to happen... and when the moment arrived, he told me he was a virgin. I was momentarily taken aback and felt a little nervous taking such an important step with him when I hadn't known him all that long, but ultimately I decided I was okay with being his first, although it wasn't my ideal situation. I discovered that there was nothing weird or wrong with him for still being a virgin, it just hadn't really happened for him. And that's okay. So in the end it was neither a turn-on or a turn-off for me, it was just a set of circumstances. It doesn't really matter.
