  1. I celebrate Christmas, and I'll be going to my parents house for it.

My family's tradition is to have Christmas brunch with my mom's side of the family (it used to be hosted by my grandma, but after falling last year, my mom has taken over this job), then my aunt and uncle (mom's side) and parents (for my dad's side – this changed this year since my parents are now smoke-free and don't want to go to my grandmother's, where everyone smokes) take turns hosting dinner, and on the 26th we do the other dinner.

This tradition is going to need to start changing though, since us kids have relationships and other families to factor in as well. I don't know how large families manage holiday traditions!

  2. I celebrate Christmas but am not as close to my family as I used to be. We didn't have many traditions growing up so I've just made my own. In early December, I spend the day with my neighbor and her two daughters, baking up all kinds of holiday cookies! Later in the month, I have a bunch of friends over and we watch Elf and Christmas Vacation while eating holiday snacks. On Christmas day, my boyfriend and I exchange gifts then I make the round of phone calls and just relax for the day, listening to Christmas music and watching Love Actually with some eggnog.

  3. My mom and I will be spending Christmas with my brother, who bought a house in April – first homeowner in the family! Okay, so we're really doing it because we know he has no Christmas decorations and we are Christmas Geeks – so this is a fresh palate for us to wreak our blinky, shiny havoc on!

I promise that, if I win one, I will use it to bring presents to my brother's place ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I don't actually celebrate Christmas. I do partake in the festivities though sometimes. This year, my friends and I are going out together for dinner instead of giving gifts. The more important celebration in my family is Winter Solstice (Dong Zhi) which falls on Dec 21st this year. And wer're having a big traditional chinese meal with the family as it's traditional to have the family together on that day.

  5. I celebrate Yule/Winter Solstice, but I end up doing everything around Christmas anyways since that's what my family does. We'll be going back up to Missouri (brrrr) for probably 4-5 days centered around Christmas.

  6. I celebrate Christmas, and this year I'm surprising myself that I'm not anti-Christmas so early in the year. Usually I'm anti-Christmas until Dec 1, but right now, i don't mind it. I'll probably also go home and celebrate with the family.

  7. I subscribed to your RSS and Re-tweeted the link. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't really celebrate Christmas, but my room mate's parents invited us to spend the holidays with them…which includes a trip to Phoenix for free! I am sad that i have to get people gifts, but am looking forward to a bit of time off.

I don't celebrate christmas but am doing so(?!) this year because i am invited to Phoenix with my best friend…so, free trip! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Christmas! Love it. Snow, lights, the tree, the food, the family – everything. And stop talking about how few shopping days there are. You scaring me.

  10. I celebrate Christmas…. it's a pretty quiet holiday with just my immediate family and I… exchanging gifts and eating lots of good food. I rarely go anywhere Christmas day, just spend the day at home watching old movies!

  11. Each year it changes. This year, I am looking forward to Christmas Eve Eve. I have a date with a man that I have been talking to for almost one year. He is flying across the country. I am very excited.

  12. These bags are ridiculously cute!

I celebrate Christmas…and the extended family all gets together and has Christmas dinner. The weird thing about my family is that..there are a lot of them. I.e. Sometims our family Christmas has over 100 people. Yes..all related. Yes, all on the same side. My mom has 12 brothers and sisters and each family has 2 kids minimum. I have 35 first cousins..(not counting their spouses and kids). Pretty crazy.
Anyway…we rent a hall for Christmas day and dinner is done potluck style, but you are instructed what to bring. (i.e. 10 pounds of peas and rolls)
We have a sing-a-long and look at scrapbooks of what everyone has done over the course of the year..then we go home, play with our toys, watch tv and head to bed.
