Free Money!

I’m a bit excited today, because tonight I’m going to make an extra $200 for participating in a focus group. Yay!
This really couldn’t have come at a better time, while I have been trying to be frugal with my gifts I really wasn’t prepared for xmas spending like I should have been. It just sort of snuck up on me! This extra money will alleviate some of the spending pain from my wallet.
I have been keeping up with the outgoing money tracking for the past month or so, so most of my gift costs have been captured (wrapping, ingredients, etc.) so I wonder if I should try and figure out how much Christmas is costing me this year, and then see if this bonus $200 covers it all.
If it covers most of it, I might spend a little more on me! I could really use a haircut or possibly a new winter coat. Hmmm. We’ll see. I should probably save it, right?

I know, it's crazy, eh? Only 3 hours and they're giving us dinner & snacks.

I wouldn’t automatically say you should save it. If you can get a good deal on a winter coat right now, then buy it. I can’t imagine hairdos being discounted. Is there any particular reason you need to save the extra $200. I ask because sometimes we have a hard time letting go. We feel like every dime that grazes our finger tips should be saved. Maybe try spending some of it, and very wisely spending the rest.

Well, the invite said mobile technology, and it ended up being about the new Google Android phones. They gave us a bunch to play with and then asked our opinions on them.
It wasn't bad, the conversation was interesting and you know I love to talk and offer my opinion! But I definitely felt like I earned the $200 afterward…

I've signed up for so many of those and I've NEVER been invited to a focus group yet!!
